Exotic Tea

This wonderful tea has become my favorite. Ordering from Enjoying Tea has saved me trips to an Indian grocer. It is spicy and aromatic . A great way to start your day!

Lots of character. I recommend 2 minutes for steeping rather than 3. It's a bit strong.

Crow Peak Brewing Company produced a spiced red ale utilizing Cochin Masala Chai. The beer turned out excellent and has been well received by our customers. Thanks for providing us with this important ingredient

Fine Masala Chai
January 15, 2014
There are many different recipes for Masala Chai (Indian Spice Tea) but I think that this is the best I have found so far. The basic tea is good and the spices are complex and subtle. As far as I can tell, there are no extracts used, only real spices. Too many of these products are overloaded with cinnamon, usually from an extract. This one is a harmonious blend of flavors. I would like a hint of pepper but that is easily added. These teas should be brewed strong with a steep of at least 10 minutes to develop the spices and then served with sweetener (preferable honey) and quite a bit of milk. The traditional method is to boil the tea.

Family Favorite

This is a great daily masala chai to brew, as it is a mellow masala mixture and does not have an overly strong bite, which my 2 teenaged kids prefer. Although the spices may be more mild than an avid masala chai drinker is akin to, the blend is very good with not one spice standing out or over powering the other more subtle flavors. My family enjoys this blend regularly and we even take it with us in our thermos when fishing. Warms us up on cold damp mornings on the lake or river.

My new Masala Chai.

I've had other companies' Masala Chai and this one is the best. There's just enough bite to it without being "peppery". I love it!

Subtle, yet pleasing
November 2, 2012
I have tried many kinds of Chai Tea formulations, but this is the first one that is not overpowering. This is a great chai for the people that like more Black Tea taste and less spice. My personal preference leans more toward spicier, but I can't complain about this. I definately would serve this to my friends who like Chai.

Tasty and rich
October 15, 2012
This is a rich-tasting chai and not overly-caffeinated. I typically use more than the quantity recommended to achieve the bold flavor I like, so if a tea is too high in caffeine, it can be unpleasant. Its flavor is well-balanced and it stands up well to milk and honey. It also doesn't get bitter if it sits in the pot for awhile. A very satisfying mug (or 2 or 3!) of chai!

A great tea blend for an afternoon treat.
July 10, 2012
My usual tea is the Keemun, which is a deep and full-bodied tea, great to start your day with as you watch the sun come up. But, for a real treat in the afternoon, the Cochin Masala chai is a great choice. While I do add a little extra freshly cracked black pepper corns in it for that after-bite, the blend in and of itself is terrific. Spicy but not so that it overpowers the tea - - you know you're drinking a cup of tea, just with a little bolt of additional flavor.

Very good tea

It took a while to warm up to this one, but I have really started enjoying it. It's strong as others have said so don't brew it too long. It knocks the socks off bagged chai teas I have tried. This one is a great tea to pick up if you are looking for some variety.

Review for Cochin Masala Chai
February 1, 2011
This chai is outstanding when served as a latte. I've been a longtime chai drinker and prefer a spicy, bold chai. This chai has great spiciness and not too strong a vanilla/sweet flavor. I typically add sugar. Leaps and bounds better than using Oregon or Tazo mix to make chai latte at home.

strong chai - not like my own mix
June 6, 2010
A very good quality chai, but not like the blend I make. Something about it gives me acid stomach, and I dislike the aftertaste - maybe it is the type of black tea used in it, or the pepper. Happily this chai has no anise. I tried it with honey, cream and vanilla but this did not make it agreeable for me. I gave it a 4 because of this, but it really is a top grade tea - others should try it and see. There is no skimping on the spices as in supermarket brands. Fragrance excellent.

Fabulous Chai!
April 20, 2010
We have been addicted to this chai from the first cup! This is my all time favorite chai- perfect blend of spices in a high quality black tea. One tsp of honey + one tsp of dark brown sugar + milk = nirvana! Pure and unadulterated tea bliss!
