We were looking for cast iron teacups to match our cast iron teapot. This item was a perfect color. But, what you may want to know is that it gets very hot. The iron transmits heat directly, so one cannot hold a hot cup of tea. It matches but if I had to do it again, I would look for something that doesn't transfer heat.
